Sharla Mohammed

Sharla Mohammed is an English Language teacher with over 15 years’ experience. She is based in Japan and has also taught in Europe and the Caribbean. Sharla is constantly researching new and innovative ways to effectively instruct her students. She is particularly interested in the intersection of technology and education in promoting learner autonomy. To this end, she decided to apply her teaching experience and training to the burgeoning world of online instruction. She offers her students a blended asynchronous and synchronous approach to language learning and GBC exam preparation.

Ejima Baker-Morales

Ejima Baker-Morales is an educator and artist with over 18 years of experience in classrooms and on the stages. As an educator, her philosophy is built upon her dedication to creating rigorous and engaging learning experiences by utilizing qualitative and quantitative data. She has a BA from Barnard College, Columbia University, a MA in Ethnomusicology from CUNY, and a PhD in Anthropology from the New School University. Ejima is dedicated to social justice, and believes in the power of education and the arts to change the world for the better.

Claire Thomson

Claire Thomson is a well-travelled teacher and trainer currently living in Andalucía, Spain. Her years as a full-time teacher of English as a second language fostered in her a keen interest in professional development and mentoring of teachers. She now trains new teachers, teaches at all levels, supports examination students, holds in-house business classes for companies and evaluates candidates for interviews with corporate businesses. She abides by her philosophy of promoting learner choice and student autonomy, while passing on knowledge and supporting those who want to learn. She loves meeting new learners, guiding them and helping them discover their abilities.

Mike Kettle

Hello! My name is Mike Kettle and I have been teaching Business English and practices for over 8 years. Throughout my career I have worked in a number of diverse business settings, which have each given me excellent opportunities to develop strategies and skills that help navigate the numerous challenges that come with working in new cultural environments. These insights have been invaluable in helping me to formulate long-lasting relationships with colleagues and associates around the world. Employing these insights, I will help you to become prepared and conformable as you set out on the exciting new directions your career is about to take you.

Dr John

Dr John is passionate about helping people improve their communication skills. She is a strong technical writer and communicator; she has co-authored US patent applications, book chapters, journal articles, conference proceedings, national occupational standards, and government reports, and chaired several technical conferences. Having collaborated with multidisciplinary teams towards the development of engineering, government, and community projects, she is experienced in communicating and collaborating across disciplines and life experiences. Dr John has also reviewed and edited technical papers for non-English speakers. Furthermore, as a trained negotiator, she understands that word choice and tone are vital for constructive communication.
